Do I need to bring my own container?
Yes. WaterWorks stations are self-serve refill — bring any clean jug, bottle or container and fill it at the machine. Most people bring a standard 18.9 L (5 gallon) jug, and any size works.
Where do I get an empty jug?
Most local grocery stores carry refillable jugs, often sold pre-filled with water for a small deposit or one-time cost. Once it's empty, bring it to any of our five stations and refill it.
What does it cost to refill a 5 gallon water jug?
A standard 18.9 L (5 gallon) jug costs $2.50 to refill with reverse osmosis water, or $4.50 with alkaline. Smaller sizes start at $0.50 for 3.8 L (1 gallon) reverse osmosis. See all refill prices.
How do I pay for a water refill?
Cash or card, right at the machine. Card payments go through the Nayax reader mounted on the terminal. Refills are pay-as-you-go — you pay for each fill at the station, whenever you come by.
What is the difference between reverse osmosis and alkaline water?
Alkaline water is the same reverse osmosis water with minerals added back in.
Where can I get an alkaline water refill?
Alkaline water refills are available at 340 Kingswood Drive, Kitchener and 561 King Street North, Waterloo. 1241 Weber Street East, Kitchener is coming soon. Reverse osmosis refills are available at all five stations.
Is the water tested?
Yes. Every station is maintained daily and water quality is tested by an independent laboratory. Water passes through a seven-stage treatment process that ends with regular inspection of the equipment, filters and water by certified technicians.
How does a water refill station work?
Drive or walk up to any of the five stations during opening hours, fill your own container at the machine, and pay at the terminal. Stations are self-serve, open 6:30 AM to 10:00 PM daily — 151 Columbia Street West, Waterloo runs 7:00 AM to 9:30 PM.
